We have had several staff changes over the past year.

Bree Belyea, formerly the manager of the Campus Flora Project, has left CCBER to pursue a graduate degree in Geography here at UCSB.  Bree was on staff for six years.

Kelly Campbell, our interpretation coordinator, has left CCBER after five years to join Viva, a cooperative art studio in Santa Barbara.

Heather Liu is a third year undergraduate majoring in ecology. She joined CCBER in July 2008 as a student volunteer and is now a research intern.

Sara Motheral, joined CCBER as Research and Restoration Technician in 2008.  After participating in our restoration internship program, she continued to volunteer and was hired in July 2008.  She is currently coordinating restoration activities at North and South Parcel sites (see her article inside this issue.)

Ben Reder, former Restoration Coordinator, left CCBER last fall, after a detour in French Polynesia teaching environmental education.  He has decided to pursue a graduate degree in landscape architecture with an emphasis on restoration.

George Thomson, Restoration Coordinator for six years, left CCBER last summer to become Creeks Planner for the Santa Barbara City Creek Restoration and Water Quality Improvement Division.
